JPD officers issue citations, warnings during special enforcement

Jefferson police officers conducted a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) May 18-31. During that time, officer wrote 14 citations and issued 133 warnings.

The following citations were issued: speed, six; driving without a license, two; driving with a suspended or revoked license, one; seatbelt violation, one; equipment violation, one; and other traffic violations, three.

The following warnings were issued: speed, 32; equipment violations, 26; no proof of insurance, 19; seat belt violations, 17; registration violations, 15; dark windows, six; stop sign violations, five; driving without a license, three; improper passing, two; and other traffic violations, eight.

Officers made one narcotics arrest, investigated four accidents, and served one arrest warrant.
